Here are 5 Key Indicators to Look Out For
We all want to give our office cleaners the benefit of the doubt, and trust that they’re doing a good job. But at the end of the day, it’s critical that you receive the service you’re paying for. At first glance, everything may seem fine. But it’s not until you run through the actual service specifications with a fine comb that you may notice things that are supposed to get done, are not. Below are five common elements on most cleaning service specifications, that frequently get neglected. Familiarise yourself with these issues and conduct your own office cleaning assessment.
1.Wall marks
The severity of dirty marks on walls is typically influenced by the work environment. In an industrial/commercial office where workers are frequently entering the office with dirt on their clothes and hands, there is bound to be an abundance of noticeable wall marks. On the contrary in a corporate setting, these marks may be less prominent but guaranteed to still exist around switches and where people lean. While this issue may not be as pressing and detrimental as most, the longer these marks go untouched, the worse it is for the paint beneath and harder it will be to remove them.
2. Not vacuuming beneath desks
Have a look underneath your desk right now and I’m sure you’ll spot a paper clip at the very least. Leave the paper clip or whatever you do find as is, and check again in a weeks time. This is an effective way of discovering whether your cleaners are pulling your chair out to thoroughly vacuum. Keep in mind it’s not just about what you can see. Your shoes are a vehicle for dirt among other microscopic matters, and they’re parked beneath your desk all day.
3. Smudges on glass
Despite the fact that smudges and fingerprints on glass are not damaging, they have made this list merely because they’re so blatantly obvious and unsightly. You can be sure that if the grubby marks on your reception doors or glass partitions are continuously and consciously ignored, your cleaners are not doing a good job.
4. Dust behind the computer monitor
Take a moment to peer over your screen and survey the amount of visible dust behind. Cleaners will often disregard this area because it’s not easily accessible, and usually requires too much time and effort. They get away with it, knowing you usually would not go out of your way to check this spot. Dust can be detrimental to the longevity of your computer, hence why it’s critical that this area receives the attention it requires.
5. Dirty touch points
For the sake of everyone’s health, It’s essential that the touch points throughout your office are regularly cleaned. If the cleaners are not fastidiously sanitising the touch points, then they will begin harbouring germs which may result in a contagious outbreak of office sickness. Some of the primary touch points you should check are the door handles/panels, cubicle locks, light switches, panel controls and the fridge handle.
